Overview

Flare ("the App") is an augmented reality application that allows users to place and discover location-based AR objects ("flares") in the real world. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the App.

1. Information We Collect

• Camera: The App accesses your device camera solely to display the live camera feed as a background for augmented reality content. Camera images are NOT recorded, stored, or transmitted to any server.
• Location (GPS): Your precise GPS coordinates are used to show nearby AR flares, calculate distances, and attach your location to flares you create and send. Location data is transmitted to our server only when you explicitly send a flare. Continuous location tracking only occurs while the AR view is open.
• Device Sensors (accelerometer, magnetometer): Used only locally to determine device orientation for the AR compass. Sensor data is never sent to any server.

2. Data We Store

When you send a flare, the following data is saved on our server:

• GPS latitude and longitude at the time of sending.
• Timestamp of the flare.

We do NOT collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifying information.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal data to third parties. Flare location data (latitude/longitude) is visible to other users of the App so they can discover flares in AR. No other data is shared.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Flares are stored on our server and can be deleted at any time from within the App using the delete button on each flare. Once deleted, the data is permanently removed from our server.

5. Security

We use standard HTTPS encryption for all data transmitted between the App and our server. We take reasonable measures to protect your data from unauthorized access.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be available within the App and on our website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
